Law Firm & Attorney FAQs

Our Most Common and Frequently Asked Questions

1) Do you work with law firms and attorneys specifically?
Yes. Law offices are high-stakes environments: deadlines, filings, court schedules, client confidentiality, and zero tolerance for downtime. I specialize in fast, discreet, professional fixes that keep your practice moving.

2) What’s your diagnostic fee?
My diagnostic fee is $100. That covers proper triage and identifying the *actual* root cause—so we don’t play “whack-a-mole” with recurring issues.

3) Do you offer onsite support for law offices?
Yes—onsite support is one of my core services. Many law-firm issues can’t be solved effectively without seeing the full environment (network, printers, scanners, multiple workstations, login policies, shared drives, etc.).

4) What do you charge for travel?
If you’re within 10 miles of 78759, there’s no travel fee. If you’re beyond that, travel is $50 per additional 20 miles. (Translation: I’m happy to come to you—just covering the real cost of time and distance.)

5) What does the first onsite visit cost?
The first onsite visit is negotiated based on the project—because law firms don’t call for “a quick look.” They call when something is affecting productivity, billing, filings, or client communication. That said, my minimum first appointment is typically $250 or less.

6) Is your hourly rate posted on the website?
Not publicly—because context matters. A simple fix, a security concern, an office-wide issue, or an urgent deadline situation aren’t priced the same. I’ll discuss the hourly rate based on the project and context, clearly and upfront.

7) Why not just use the cheapest tech person available?
You absolutely can—if your practice can afford:
- downtime during business hours
- “trial-and-error” troubleshooting
- security shortcuts
- mysterious changes with no documentation
- a second tech to clean up the first tech’s mess

Law firms don’t need the cheapest. They need reliable, accountable, and discreet.

8) Can you help with printers, scanners, and “why won’t it print right now?” emergencies?
Yes. Law offices live and die by printers/scanners. I troubleshoot:
- “printer offline” issues
- network printing
- scanner-to-email / scanner-to-folder
- new printer setup
- multi-user reliability problems

If it prints perfectly *until it matters*, you’ve found your people.

9) Can you help us with Microsoft 365, Outlook, email deliverability, and shared calendars?
Yes. Email and calendaring are a law office’s circulatory system. I handle:
- Outlook issues
- Microsoft 365 setup/cleanup
- mail profile corruption
- account security and recovery
- sync issues across devices
- deliverability basics (when appropriate)

10) Can you help with password/account recovery (Microsoft/Google/Apple) without making it worse?
Yes—this is one of my specialties. I help attorneys and staff regain access and then put a plan in place so it doesn’t become a recurring crisis.

11) Do you help with cybersecurity basics (without turning it into a 60-page compliance novel)?
Yes. I focus on practical, high-impact steps like:
- account hardening (MFA, recovery methods)
- device security checkups
- safer workflows for staff
- reducing “one click away from disaster” risk

Simple, realistic, and actually followed.

12) What kind of results do clients typically get from working with you?
Most engagements create thousands of dollars of value because the “one issue” is rarely one issue. Once I’m in, we usually uncover and resolve additional problems that have been silently costing time, stress, and billable hours.

Bottom line: my goal is peace of mind and sleep tonight—not “see you again next week for the same problem.”

13) Do you sign NDAs / respect confidentiality?

I respect confidentiality as a matter of professionalism. If your firm requires an NDA for vendor access, I’m open to it. (Attorneys like agreements—shocking, I know.)

14) Do you replace or recommend computers for law offices?
Yes. I can advise on replacement vs repair, and I can source and set up systems designed for reliability—not “whatever was on sale.”

15) Are you the right fit for firms shopping purely by price?
Probably not. I’m a premium onsite option for firms that value:
- responsiveness
- confidentiality
- business continuity
- done-right outcomes

If you want the lowest price, I’ll gladly point you toward that market. If you want dependable, I’m your guy.

Schedule an Appointment or Call
If your office needs reliable, discreet help—schedule an appointment or call. This is premium onsite support for attorneys and law firms who want it handled correctly, not “creatively.”>

Note: I’m one of the *few* options for Sunday repairs in Central Texas—because problems don’t care about your calendar… and apparently neither do printers.
