How We Manage Private Information
Last updated: October 12, 2026
The short, human version of how we treat your information. This page applies to all Secret Simple Computer Repair websites and services, including secretsimplecomputerrepair.com and our related sites and programs (such as our Password Academy and IT Health Checkup offerings). For the full details, see our Privacy Policy.
What We Collect
Just what we need to help you: your name, phone, email, address, what’s going on with your tech, and notes about your devices (make, model, operating system, and software). Our website also collects basic usage info like your IP address, browser, and the pages you visit.
What We Avoid
We don’t want your passwords, Social Security number, date of birth, or full card or bank numbers, and we don’t store them. If a job ever seems to need something sensitive, we’ll talk first about a safer way to handle it, like you typing the password in yourself.
What We See on Your Devices
When we work on your computer, in person or remotely, we might be able to see your files, photos, or email. Here’s our promise:
- We access only what the job needs.
- We don’t copy or keep your personal files, unless the work requires it (for example, a data transfer or backup you asked for).
- Anything we see stays confidential.
- We delete temporary copies promptly after the work is complete.
Payments: You Stay Protected
You can pay with cash, check, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Bitcoin, or a credit or debit card. Electronic payments go through PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Stripe, Authorize.net, or Deluxe. They handle your card or bank details, not us. Older payment records may also be held by processors we used in the past. We may get limited details like your name, email, and the last 4 digits of your card. We never store full card or bank numbers. Heads up: Bitcoin payments are recorded on a public blockchain that anyone can see.
Troubleshooting Notes: Useful, but Not Creepy
We keep notes so we can fix things faster next time. Those notes are about the problem and the solution, not about your identity or your personal stuff.
Texting With Us
If you text us, or agree to get texts from us, we’ll use texting only for service-related things like appointment reminders, service updates, and support. We don’t send marketing or promotional texts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, anytime. We do not share or sell mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.
Cookies and Analytics
Our website uses a few tools to see how people use the site and to keep things like forms and chat working: GoHighLevel tracking code, Google Analytics, and RingCentral (phone and text). We don’t currently use advertising pixels; if that changes, we’ll update this policy. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
AI and Training Data
We use a customer-relationship platform (HighLevel, provided through Dashboard Local) for scheduling, messaging, and records. The chat on our website may be answered by an AI assistant powered by HighLevel, through Dashboard Local, using OpenAI, so your chat messages are processed by these providers. We also use AI to help draft replies to public online reviews, so review text is processed by them too. You can ask to speak with a person anytime, and a person at Secret Simple stays responsible for the service. HighLevel’s privacy policy says it doesn’t use personal information to train generalized, public AI models. And we never put passwords or sensitive client information into any AI tool.
Testimonials
If you give us a review, we may share it in our marketing. We’ll credit it with your name exactly as it already shows where you posted it (Google, Yelp, Facebook, or Thumbtack), whether that’s a nickname, your full name, or your first name and last initial. We never add details you didn’t share. Want it taken down or changed? Just email us and we’ll take care of it.
If Something Goes Wrong
We use solid safeguards and practice what we preach, but nothing online is 100% secure. If a breach ever affects your information, we’ll notify you as required by law. Texas requires notice within 60 days.
Your Requests
Want to see, fix, or delete your info? Email support@secretsimpleit.com. We’ll verify it’s really you, acknowledge your request within 2 business days, and complete it within 30 days.
Our Support Team
Our team includes support staff and contractors outside the United States, including in the Philippines. They may see your contact and scheduling information so they can set up appointments and follow up with you. They’ve signed written confidentiality agreements and get only the access they need.
Where We Work
On-site service in Central Texas. Remote support: available outside Texas on request. If you’re outside the U.S., your information is processed in the United States and the Philippines. Clients in the EU or UK have extra rights, explained in the “For Clients in the EU/UK” section of our Privacy Policy.
Changes
If we update this page, we’ll post the new version here with a new date.
